Deputy Insurance Commissioner
Applications for this position will only be accepted until April 16th.
Insurance Examiner I
College graduates possessing a Bachelor degree with a major in Accounting, Business Administration, Actuarial Science, Insurance or a closely related field and one year of professional experience in accounting, finance or insurance may be employed in this classification.
Actuary
Applicants must have a Fellow of the Casualty Actuarial Society (FCAS) OR Fellow of the Society of Actuaries (FSA). Applicants must provide proof of credentials with their application.

State Professional Trainee

This classification will be used to understudy the Insurance Examiner I position; therefore, applicants with majors in accounting, business administration, actuarial science, and insurance are preferred. Applicants with degrees that lack the one year of professional experience required by the Insurance Examiner I classification may gain experience in this trainee position which may lead to advancement to an Insurance Examiner I. Applicants must have graduated from a four year college or university. Applicants should possess some knowledge of principles and practices of public administration and governmental organization, functions, and activities; knowledge of mathematics to include arithmetical operations, percentages, and ratios and English to include grammar, spelling, composition, and punctuation. Applicants should have the ability to analyze and interpret complex information and to arrive at sound judgment; to read and comprehend complex written material; to present ideas effectively both orally and in writing; and to establish and maintain working relationships with superiors, other government agencies, professional associations, and the general public.
Note: The State Professional Trainee is a classification utilized by several state agencies. Each may indicate an interest in applicants with a different major. This is a limited tenure (temporary) appointment not to exceed two years.
