Local and state investigators are currently investigating a fire in Woodland where three victims were found in the remains of a burned mobile home Monday afternoon.

The fire was discovered by a neighbor who saw smoke and went to investigate.  Upon finding the home on fire, the neighbor called the Randolph County 911 Center who dispatched the Bethel East Volunteer Fire Department.  The fire was reported at 3:57 PM.

The structure, a singlewide mobile home with a two story wood frame addition, was located at 462 County Road 453 Woodland.

The cause of the fire and deaths remains under investigation by the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office, Randolph County Coroner, Alabama Department of Forensic Sciences and the Alabama State Fire Marshals Office.  The Randolph County Rescue Squad has assisted investigators during the investigation.  Autopsies are scheduled to determine the cause of deaths and to identify the victims.
