Greenville Fire Claims Two Lives

Investigators with the Greenville Fire and Police Departments and the Alabama State Fire Marshals Office are currently investigating a fire that claimed two young lives and injured two adults this morning.

Devencia Marshall age 17 and Kenyardia Pettus age 12 were killed in the fire.  Bobby Mack and Shirley Marshall, both age 48, were injured.  Mr. Mack has been transferred to UAB Burn Center by ambulance while Mrs. Marshall has been transferred to UAB Burn Center via Life Flight.

Greenville Fire Department was notified of the fire at 380 East Fields Street at approximately 4:30 AM.  The fire originated in the living room of a one story wood frame residence.

 

The cause and circumstances of the fire remain under investigation at this time.
