A Sunday morning fire at Lot G 6259 Rester Road in Theodore claimed the life of one Mobile County resident.

Twenty-eight-year-old Johnny Allen Dunham died January 23rd when fire destroyed his rented mobile home. The fire was reported at 2:51AM, however, firefighters were unable to rescue Mr. Dunham before he died.

Investigators from the Mobile County Sheriff's Office and the State Fire Marshals Office are investigating the fire and death. At the present time the cause of the fire appears to be accidental. One eye of the kitchen stove was found in the on position and the kitchen was determined to be the room of origin.

Although the home was reportedly equipped with smoke alarms, no remains of any alarms were found by the investigators.

An autopsy is scheduled by the Alabama Department of Forensic Sciences.
