The Alabama Liquefied Petroleum Gas Board and the Alabama State Fire Marshals Office are assisting local authorities with the investigation of a fire-related death occurring in the Holtville Community of Elmore County Sunday evening June 2nd.

The victim has been identified as 51 year old Henry Troyce Davis of 289 Easy Street near Wetumpka. The incident occurred shortly before 8:00 PM and Mr. Davis died later at the hospital.

The fire occurred while the victim was using a liquefied petroleum gas grill at his residence. At this time the injuries appear to have occurred when a coupling on the hose supplying gas from the cylinder to the grill burner came loose. Gas from the cylinder was released and ignited by the fire in the grill.

The investigation is continuing, however, earlier reports of an explosion were incorrect.
