Two Subjects Arrested Following Burglary and Fire

Two subjects have been arrested following an investigation by the Uniontown Police Department and Alabama State Fire Marshals Office.  James T. Harris, age 21 of Uniontown, and Author Cornelius Jackson, Jr. age 19 of Tuscaloosa, have been charged with Arson Second Degree, Burglary Third Degree and Theft of Property Second Degree.  The charges stem from the burglary of the home of Kelvin Dwayne Chandler, County Road 53 Uniontown.

Chandler’s home was burglarized, property was stolen and the home set on fire around 5:00 AM Sunday December 8th.  Witnesses saw the subjects running from the house and reported they were carrying a bedspread.  The stolen property, consisting of clothing, has been recovered and the subjects have confessed to the crimes.

Harris was arrested December 10th and Jackson December 11th.  Both subjects are currently being held in the Perry County Jail.
