Ranburne Man Arrested for Murder and Arson

A Ranburne man was arrested Friday night following the investigation of a mid-afternoon mobile home fire February 10th where three bodies were later recovered.

Tommy Alan Cook, age 24, of 12432 County Road 10, Ranburne, AL was charged with one count of Capitol Murder and one count of Arson First Degree.  Cook is currently being held in the Randolph County Jail.  No bond has been set for the charges.

Investigators with the Randolph and Cleburne County Sheriff’s Offices, Randolph and Cleburne County District Attorney’s Offices, the Alabama Department of Forensic Sciences and the Alabama State Fire Marshals Office have been working the case since the fire was reported at 3:57 PM Monday.  The Newell Volunteer Fire Department has assisted investigators during the investigation.
