An elderly retirement community resident died today from injuries received yesterday in a fire.
Anne Mae Coleman, age 81, of 35 Walden Circle died today at the University of Alabama Burn Center. Mrs. Coleman was admitted yesterday in critical condition with burns to 80% of her body.
Investigators with the Brundidge police and fire departments and the Alabama State Fire Marshals Office determined the fire was a result of improperly discarded smoking materials at a recliner.
