Ten Baldwin County fire departments were called to the scene of a fire at First Baptist Church in Foley, Thursday morning. The Christian Family Center, located at 221 North Alston Street, contained the church fellowship hall, kitchen, classrooms, and gymnasium. The fire reported at 7:35 AM, destroyed the building.
Investigators with the Foley Fire Department, Gulf Shores Fire Department and Alabama State Fire Marshals Office say the fire originated in a concealed space above the kitchen in the two-story building. The fire was determined to be accidental resulting from electrical wiring.
