Chilton County resident Jimmy Lamar Killingsworth, Jr., age 27, is currently being held in the Chilton County Jail on a probation violation charge and faces additional charges related to a May fire and a chase with law enforcement officers.

Killingsworth was being sought September 10th on an outstanding probation violation warrant and for questioning in a May 28, 2003, Montevallo fire.  When officers attempted to take Killingsworth into custody he fled, but was captured approximately six hours later after being pursued by law enforcement officers and dogs from the Calera Police Department, Shelby County Sheriff’s Office, Alabama Department of Corrections, Alabama State Troopers and Alabama State Fire Marshals Office.

In addition to the original charge he is currently being held on, the suspect potentially faces additional charges of arson second degree, burglary and resisting arrest.  The burglary charge resulted from Killingsworth breaking into a home while being tracked by officers September 10th.  The suspect was previously convicted of arson following another investigation by the Alabama State Fire Marshals Office.
