Two adults and one child died this morning during a fire at 45 Highway 221, Montevallo. The adults were Edwan Earl Lunsford, age 40, and Heather Michalle Lunsford, age 27. The child was approximately eighteen months old.
The fire was reported at 2:50 A.M. and involved a dwelling where burglar bars had been placed on the windows. The burglar bars prevented occupants of the house from being able to escape by way of the windows.
Investigators with local agencies and the Alabama State Fire Marshals Office have traced the source of the fire to electrical wiring. There were no smoke detectors in the house at the time of the fire.
