A fire reported at 4:08 PM today resulted in fire, smoke and water damage to sixteen apartments in Alabaster.
The fire at Woodbrook Apartments located off Alabama Highway 119 was the result of two children, age 7 and 8, playing with matches. One adult sustained minor injuries from smoke inhalation and was transported to the hospital for treatment.
Fire units from Alabaster and Pelham were called to the scene to suppress the fire. Investigators from the Alabaster Fire and Police Departments; the Pelham Fire Department; and the State Fire Marshals Office conducted the investigation.
