Examinations


Once you have completed the appropriate prelicensing course, you are eligible to sit for the insurance producer examination. You will be asked to present a valid photo ID and an original certificate of completion from an approved prelicensing provider when you arrive to take your examination. If you have not received the original certificate, you may present a copy only if the notary stamp and signatures are legible by proctor.

NOTE: Prelicensing course certificate is valid for one year from date of completion.

License Examination Exemptions

The insurance producer, adjuster, and title examinations are now available in five locations around the state. The exam fees are non-refundable.

Producer Exam Fees - $50.00
Producer Combined Life and Health exam - $75.00 - Effective 1-1-16
Producer Combined Property and Casualty exam - $75.00 – Effective 1-1-16
Independent Adjuster Exam Fee - $75.00
Title Agent Exam Fee - $75.00

NOTE: Make sure you have your Certificate of Completion in hand before registering for state exam.

For persons not currently holding an active Temporary Insurance Producer or Apprentice Adjuster License:

After successfully completing the required examination effective 1/1/2016, applicants must complete an online application and pay a fee of $80 for the Producer license or $110 for the Independent Adjuster license or $60 for the Title Agent license plus the $5 NIPR transaction fee paid by credit card. Visa, Mastercard, and American Express payments will be accepted online. NIPR FEES ARE NON-REFUNDABLE.

For persons currently holding an active Temporary Insurance Producer or Apprentice Adjuster License:

After successfully completing the examination, if within the time of the temporary license dates, NIPR will automatically convert the license to a permanent license and you should be able to print your license within 2 days. No fee is required.
