We all want the best health care available. We normally search for the best insurance policy that we can afford. For most senior citizens, Medicare covers most basic health care needs. But unfortunately, it does have "gaps." Many need something more to protect them from expensive medical costs.

This is where Medicare Supplemental insurance, commonly known as MEDIGAP, comes into play. Insurance policies to supplement Medicare can sometimes be both costly and unnecessary. Purchasing multiple policies can also result in overlapping benefits and duplicate coverage. The check lists for Medicare Supplement and Long Term Care can help you when you are shopping for insurance.

If you need further help, call Alabama's State Health Insurance Assistance Program (SHIP) and speak with an insurance counselor. Help is a free telephone call away!!! (800) 243-5463
